FAQ

What is Phimosis?

Phimosis is the medical term to describe a tight foreskin which can not be properly retracted from the glans (head) of the penis. See our page on phimosis for more information.

Will I be cured after using the Gentle Foreskin Stretcher for 14 days?

For the majority of men using the GFS once a day for 14 days will lead to a markedly looser foreskin. Some men may need to use the GFS for a longer period of time or will benefit from using the GFS twice a day. It is important to remember that phimosis presents in many different grades of severity and men will respond differently to the GFS. In some severe cases of phimosis, men may benefit from using the GFS in combination with a topical steriod cream containing 0.05% betamethasone.

Will phimosis recur after using the Gentle Foreskin Stretcher?

Many men will find that the foreskin is permanently stretched. In other cases, the GFS may need to be used in the future to maintain the looser foreskin.

How big does the foreskin opening need to be to use the Gentle Foreskin Stretcher?

The GFS has been designed to fit through a foreskin opening as small as 2.5mm (pinhole phimosis).

Can I use topical steriod cream with the Gentle Foreskin Stretcher?

Yes, the GFS can be used in combination with a topical steriod cream to enhance the stretching. A steroid cream containing 0.05% betamethasone has been shown to be the most effective for stretching the foreskin. The cream can be obtained from your local pharmacist, however in some countries you may require a prescription from your local medical practitioner.

Can the Gentle Foreskin Stretcher be used to treat frenulum breve?

Frenulum breve is the condition in which the elastic band of tissue under the penis that connects to the foreskin and helps contract the prepuce over the glans (known as the frenulum), is short and restricts the movement of the foreskin. Frenulum breve may or may not be associated with phimosis. The Gentle Foreskin Stretcher is not designed to treat frenulum breve and you should consult your local medical practitioner for advice on treatment of frenulum breve.

Why should I treat phimosis?

Some men may tolerate living with a tight foreskin for many years. However, there are two important reasons to treat a tight foreskin. Firstly, relieving a tight foreskin will increase sensitivity and improve arousal during sexual intercourse and secondly, the chance of infection and irritation under the foreskin is virtually eliminated.

What are the other methods for treating phimosis?

There are basically two methods for treating phimosis. The first is removal of the foreskin by surgery, ie. a circumcision. However, many men do not want to undergo surgery and lose their foreskin. The second is to stretch the foreskin so that the foreskin can be properly retracted. In some cases, manual stretching using the fingers may be effective but manual stretching can be difficult to master and may not be effective in more severe cases of phimosis. The Gentle Foreskin Stretcher offers a very effective and safe way to stretch your foreskin in the privacy of your own home. The Gentle Foreskin Stretcher is easy to use and can be used of all types of phimosis.

Will using the Gentle Foreskin Stretcher prevent delayed ejaculation?

Yes, this is quite possible. Relieving a tight foreskin with the Gentle Foreskin Stretcher improves the sensitivity of the penis by allowing the foreskin to be retracted and exposing the glans (head) of the penis.

Will using the Gentle Foreskin Stretcher effect penis size?

No, phimosis is not associated with penis size and alleviating a tight foreskin will not alter the size or shape of the penis.

Can the Gentle Foreskin Stretcher be used in children?

We do not recommend the use of the Gentle Foreskin Stretcher in males under the age of 18 years. This is because boys and young men are still developing and full retractability of the foreskin may not be achieved until late childhood or early adulthood. If you are concerned about your child please consult your local medical practitioner.

What if I am not sure if I have phimosis?

If you are not sure that you have phimosis or whether the Gentle Foreskin Stretcher may be suitable for your specific condition, we recommend that you consult your local medical practitioner.
